Description
The saddling stables, located to the east of the road at Tweseldown Racecourse, were built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from red brick and feature a gabled slate roof with ventilation louvres. The exterior consists of nine bays, each separated by brick pilasters, and includes metal casement windows. The end elevations have circular openings and cambered arches. Inside, the stables are divided into several individual stalls with wooden partitions. The roof is of the queenpost type, featuring an unusual interrupted tie beam and collar beam, along with the original rafters. These stables remain unaltered and were designed to accommodate horses participating in race meetings, forming part of a group of buildings at Tweseldown Racecourse.
