Description

Stratford Lodge is a house dating back to the 16th century, with additions from the 17th and early 19th centuries. It began as a timber-framed building, later extended to the rear with lighter 17th-century framing, and then given a Regency-style facade. The south front has two storeys and four windows, topped by a slate hipped roof. The walls are rendered. The front features sash windows in exposed frames, alongside two French doors and small windows (easements) on the ground floor. A simple doorway has a six-panelled door, set within a conservatory. The west side continues the style with approximately two windows. The rear (north) of the house presents irregular red tile roofing, exposed timber framing filled with painted brickwork, easements, and later one-story additions (outshots).
