Description
This is a pair of houses dating from approximately 1800 to 1820, situated on North Cross Street. They are three storeys high and feature a single bay each. The houses are constructed of red brick with contrasting gault brick headers. Decorative details include shallow stone string cornices topped with painted header dentils, and a parapet with stone coping. Each upper floor has a single window, with recessed sash windows (the windows in number 13 are original). Flat, gauged brick arches are above the windows. In the mid-19th century, shop fronts were added, featuring small bay windows with large, shaped brackets, deep fascias, and blind boxes.
