Description

Newton Cottage is an 18th-century pair of two-storey cottages located on Privett Road. It originally comprised numbers 6 and 8. The cottages feature a wide front, with projecting wings. The ground floor on the west side has been modernised. The roof is hipped and covered with red tiles. The walls are built of blue bricks laid in header courses, with cambered arches over the openings. The windows are sash windows, with a pair of French windows also present. The doorcases include narrow pilasters, although number 8 has a modern porch. A curved forecourt wall is constructed in a Flemish Garden Wall bond.
