Description
Rope Walk Cottage is a late 18th century or early 19th century building located on the west side of Lower Quay in Fareham. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers and features an old tiled roof that slopes down to a single storey at the rear, which faces the street. The cottage has an end chimney and includes three windows and one door, which is topped by a small flat hood supported by brackets. There is a small eastern wing that extends at right angles and has a hipped old tiled roof. The main or southern facade is two storeys high, made of grey brick with red brick dressings and a stringcourse. It has two sash windows with vertical glazing bars only. The listed buildings on Lower Quay form a group, most of which can be seen from the approach through the Railway Viaduct across Quay Street.
