Description
Botley House, located at 25 Botley High Street, is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall, with an attic and basement. It features five windows and has a red tile roof that is hipped at both ends and above two dormers. The symmetrical facade includes a parapet and is designed with a pediment above the central section, which encloses a blank oval opening adorned with four keystones. The high parapet has coping stones and features panels above the end windows, transitioning to a brick dentil cornice in the pediment. The walls are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches and cambered heads on the panels within a high plinth. The side elevations are made of blue headers. The central window on the first floor is round-headed, featuring a projecting keystone and brick impost blocks. The sashes are in exposed frames, although the ground floor has later alterations. The entrance is marked by a bold pedimented doorcase of simple design, complete with a cornice on brackets and panelled pilasters, accessed by five steps with side rails.
