Description

This property is a 17th-century building, with later 19th-century details and a 20th-century extension. Constructed of brick and tile, it forms a long range attached to the east end of Malthouse Farmhouse and likely represents the older building, retaining fragments of timber-frame construction. The building is two storeys high and has an irregular arrangement of eight windows on the upper floor and four on the ground floor. The roof is half-hipped at the east end, where it joins with a smaller, lower roof belonging to a 20th-century extension. The brickwork is predominantly in English bond, although a ground-floor section is of ironstone, with evidence of altered features. The windows are casements. Two plain doorways are separated by a dividing wall, now a garden, and contain blocked openings, indicating a building has been removed. The property is included in the listing primarily for its group value.
