Description

The gateway, forecourt paving, and roadside boundary wall to Hook Cottage are features associated with the front of the house, dating from the early 19th century and restored in the early 20th century. In front of the house, there is a path laid with tiny rounded flint pebbles, which leads to a gateway in a plain boundary wall made of flint with brick dressings. The wall curves upward to meet tall brick piers that are connected by a wrought-iron lamp bracket. The wrought-iron gate is designed to resemble the form of Gothic casements.
