Description
The Red Lion Inn is a public house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The older section features flint walls with painted brick dressings, including quoins, a first-floor band, and rubbed flat arches. The later part has painted brick walls in header bond with a cambered arch. The roof is tiled, consisting of two levels, hipped at the north end with gabled dormers. The east front elevation is two storeys high with an attic and has three windows across. It includes casements and sash windows on the north side. There are two doorways, one of which has a canopy supported by brackets and a six-panelled door. A lead Sun fire insurance sign, numbered 14473, is also present, along with a wrought-iron bracket that holds a painted sign from the 20th century.
