Description
West End Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with restoration work carried out in the 20th century. It is a timber-framed building with a tiled roof. The house is two storeys high and has an irregular arrangement of windows. The roof is prominent, with a half-hipped section at the south end, a hipped section at the north end (brought to a low eaves), a catslide roof at the rear, and a half-hipped section above a two-storey projection in the centre of the rear. The front, which faces southwest, has four windows above three. The upper wall is tile-hung, and the lower wall is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The tile-hanging extends onto the south gable. The rear and north walls have exposed brickwork infilling the timber framing. The windows are 20th-century casements. There are two small 20th-century porches.
