Description

No. 16 Market Street is an early 19th-century building, altered in later periods. It is a two-storey structure with a glazed and slated polygonal cupola. The exterior is stuccoed, with a slate roof. The ground floor features a mid-19th century shop front characterized by pilasters and an entablature. The first floor has two canted bay windows, each with blank panels beneath and lions’ masks in the cornice above. No. 16 is part of a group with Nos. 18 and 20, and No. 22 Market Street.
