Description
Hartley House is an early 19th-century building. The north front has two storeys and features a regular but not symmetrical design. The lower east side is slightly set back and has a projecting east side, while the west side also has a slightly projecting feature, resulting in a window arrangement of 2.2.2.2. The building has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with wide eaves supported by coupled plain brackets against a fascia. The walls are finished in stucco, with stone cills and a plinth. The windows are sashes set in reveals. There is a solid porch with a Roman Doric cornice above plain free-standing columns and an architrave leading to an arched doorway, which includes a fanlight. Additional extensions are present on the east end.
