Description

Hill Rise Cottage is a building that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries, with some modern alterations. It is a one-storey cottage with an attic and features four windows. The roof is thatched and has a half-hipped design, along with two eyebrow windows. The walls are made of red brick from different periods, including both English and Flemish bond styles, and have cambered openings. The north gable displays some exposed timber-framing. The cottage has casement windows and a modern thatched porch designed to resemble an older style. Additionally, there is a lead fire insurance sign for Sun Insurance, number 14770.
