Description
Town Mill is an 18th-century building that has recently been restored as a dwelling. It stands three storeys high with irregularly placed windows. The roof is a tile mansard, half-hipped at the south end and gabled at the north, which extends over a projecting boarded hoist. The walls are made of red brick, featuring English Flemish and Flemish Garden Wall bonds, with pilasters on the north side of the west elevation. There are a few cambered openings and arches for the waterways at both the north and south ends. The upper north gable and the north side of the east elevation have boarding. The building includes modern casements and two modern tile-roofed half-glazed porches. Originally, there were two wheels and gearing; one wheel is now attached externally at the south end, and some of the gearing has been re-constituted within the building as decoration.
