Description
Nos 1, 2, and 3 Rectory Row is a Grade II listed building dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. This two-storey house with an attic features a large timber frame that has undergone later alterations and subdivision. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped design and an outshot on the north side, along with a catslide at the rear and a large central stack. The exposed frame includes arch braces, although some of it is obscured by shallow angular two-storeyed bays from the 17th century, which have brick walling between the windows. The infilling is mostly herring-bone red brick. The windows are casements, some of which are leaded. Nos 2 and 3 have plain boarded doors in solid frames, while No 1 features a glazed door set within a modern half-glazed porch that has a thatched roof.
