Description

Sherfield Hall is an 18th and 19th century building. The symmetrical east front has three stories and three windows, with a later addition to the south featuring two stories and two upper windows. The roof is hipped and tiled. The building is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond, with a stone coping to the parapet, a moulded cornice, quoins, and cills. Further detailing includes rubbed flat arches, a first-floor band, a high plinth, and a lower cement plinth. Sashes are set in reveals, with the upper windows being casements. A late 19th century brick porch features a parapet, cornice, pilasters, a wide doorway with side panels, a fanlight above the doorway, and windows on either side. The north elevation includes a chimney stack and a projecting two-story, two-window section. To the west of this is a large, attached late 19th century block built in a contrasting Gothic style.
