Description
Bartley Mill is a watermill and mill house dating from the 18th century, with later 19th-century alterations. The mill house is constructed of brick and features a tiled roof. The north face has four casement windows, while the rear wing extends to form the mill, which has two projections with steep brick gables. The windows in the mill have cambered heads. An overshot wheel made of cast iron is reported to still exist, although substantial timber hurstings were removed during an inspection in 1986. The mill is located within the Wadhurst Civil Parish.
