Description
The Swan Public House is located on the west side of Lewes Road in Forest Row. The north-west section of the building likely dates from the 17th century and features a plastered front with a steeply-pitched tiled roof. The main front, which is from the early 19th century, has two wings that are two storeys high, each with one window. The ground floor is made of ashlar stone, while the upper part is plastered and has gables. The section between the wings is weather-boarded, but the ground floor has been extended in ashlar to connect with the wings, topped with a parapet. The roof is tiled, and the windows are a mix of casement and sash styles.
