Description

The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is a Grade I listed building located on the north side of Church Street in Willingdon. The church features a chancel, a nave with an aisle, and a tower at the west end of the aisle, which does not have internal communication with the church. The tower dates from the late 12th to early 13th century, while the nave and aisle were built in the 14th century, and the chancel was completed in the late 14th century. The church has a kingpost roof and a Perpendicular style square font with a parallel stem. Additionally, there is a Jacobean monument dedicated to the Parkers of Ratton.
