Description
The building is a garage with a chauffeur's flat above, along with attached walls and steps, designed in 1929 by Frank Scarlett of the firm Scarlett and Ashworth for Colonel and Mrs Templar. It is an important part of the design of Starlock, an early International Modern Movement house. The structure features rendered brickwork with cavity walls and a flat roof.
On the exterior, the ground floor garage has the original triple folding wooden door with glass rectangular fanlights. The first floor flat includes a five-light window, which has been replaced in the 20th century but closely resembles the original. There are additional windows on the left side and rear, and access to the flat is provided by an original wooden door with a tall glazed central panel.
The interior has not been inspected. The building also includes attached walls on the left and right, flanking three flights of steps, each consisting of six steps.
