Description

Tara House is a repaired, timber-framed house located at 30 Church Square, dating from the 16th century or earlier. The building has two storeys and an attic, with the upper storey slightly overhanging on two brackets. It features two windows and one dormer. A heavy post is situated at the west end of the ground floor, which has mortices for shutters on the ground floor windows. Some timbers have been renewed. The back part of the house, known as No 30, is accessed through a passage between Nos 28 and 32. Tara House is part of a group that includes Nos 20 to 46 (even) and No 33, along with Nos 27 to 30 on Watchbell Street.
