Description
Highlands is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It originally had two bays but was extended by one bay to the west and refronted in the early 19th century. The building is timber-framed, with weatherboarding on the front and a partial brick elevation at the rear. It features a half-hipped old tiled roof with a tall brick chimneystack positioned off-center. The house has two storeys and four windows, with 19th-century casements on the front, including three tripartite windows. The entrance has an early 19th-century doorcase adorned with a wooden cornice and brackets. On the west side, there is an early 19th-century shopfront with a multi-paned square bay. The rear elevation shows two storeys in the western bay and a catslide roof on the eastern outshut. There are 20th-century windows present.
