Description

Cordbatt Cottage, located on Rye Road, is a Grade II* listed building, likely dating from the early 19th century. This cottage orné is a single storey with attics. Its front and side walls are constructed from short logs arranged to resemble flints and set in plaster. The cottage features three casement windows and has a later lean-to extension on the right side. The hipped thatched roof includes one dormer and is supported by six rustic posts that form a verandah on the front elevation. The rear elevation is made of brick and has a small eaves overhang. The log construction of this cottage may be unique in East Sussex.
