Description

This is an 18th-century block, with the butcher’s shop likely being older. It is a two-storey building with seven windows. The building has grey brick lintels and red brick dressings. The house attached to the butcher’s shop also features quoins and a flush stringcourse. The front of the butcher's shop is weather-boarded, while Hogge House is stuccoed. The roofs are tiled, and the original glazing bars remain intact, except in Hogge House. The butcher’s shop has a 19th-century shop window with a hood and an iron balcony above. Hogge House has a projecting ground-floor canopy with a slate roof, and a carved relief of a pig is positioned between the first-floor windows.
