Description

These are early 19th-century buildings, numbers 12 and 13 York Buildings, forming part of a group with numbers 11 and 14 (numbers 11 and 14 being of local interest only). The buildings are four storeys high and have four windows wide. They feature two segmental bowed bay windows, originally containing three-light sashes with glazing bars. The original curved sashes have now been replaced with flat sashes, although the glazing bars have been retained. Above the shopfront, the upper floors retain two-light sashes with glazing bars, the first floor windows being taller than those above. The building is topped with a hipped tiled roof. Small paired brackets support the eaves soffit. The ground floor has been adapted with a modern shop front and fascia extending to the first floor bays. The front of the building is decorated with painted mathematical tiles.
