Description

The pair of houses at 27 and 28 Marine Parade date from approximately 1840, and are referred to as “Regency House” and “Regency Villa”. They are three-storey buildings with a stucco exterior and slate roof. A cornice is present, decorated with consoles. Each house has a curved bay window featuring five narrow lights on each of the three floors. The first-floor windows are hooded, and an iron balcony supported by four stuccoed Doric columns sits beneath the bay window on the ground floor – one column on each side. Plain, semi-circular fanlights are above the front doors.
