Description
The United Reformed Church is a non-conformist chapel built in 1834, designed in a Neo-Perpendicular style. It features a combination of ashlar stone and stucco, topped with a slate gabled roof. The west front has a central projection that includes a battlemented parapet and a small spire, along with a 'Perpendicular' door on the ground floor. This projection is flanked by windows that have cusped tracery and corner buttresses. The south front consists of five bays, each with pointed lattice leaded windows separated by buttresses. Additionally, there are ecclesiastical cast iron railings along the road, adorned with pierced and cusped spear heads. This church is particularly noteworthy as it was built during a time when few non-conformist chapels in the Perpendicular style were being constructed.
