Description
Bulloways Farmhouse and byre, now a house, dates from the early 16th century and was altered in the 17th and 20th centuries. The building features part timber framing with painted brick infill and part weatherboarding, topped with a thatched gabled roof. It has a rectangular plan consisting of two framed bays and a three-framed bay byre extension on the west side. The structure is one and one and a half storeys tall, with a chimney located on the ridge to the right.
On the entrance front, there is a three-light casement window on the left with an eyebrow dormer above it. Below, on the ground floor, is an iron casement window and a 20th-century half-glazed door set under a small lean-to porch. In the right-hand corner, there is a small two-light iron casement window. Inside, the farmhouse features an inglenook fireplace and some exposed timber framing.
