Description

Lea Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse, altered in the 18th century. It is located on Park Lane in Finchampstead. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick, with some roughcast render and timber framing with painted brick infill, and has an old tile roof which is half-hipped on the right side. The building has a rectangular plan, originally consisting of two framed bays, with a brick extension on the west side. It is two storeys high. A chimney with four square shafts is located to the right of centre. The front of the house features two bays with 19th-century three-light casement windows. To the left is a 19th-century extension, finished in painted roughcast with a hipped old tile roof, containing a ledged door and a two-light casement window on the ground floor. The interior retains much of the original timber frame and includes an inglenook fireplace.
