Description
The Old House is a house located 200 meters off the track to Lea Farm, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with some alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infilling that is colorwashed, while the southeast gable is roughcast and includes 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars. The roof is covered with old tiles. The main part of the house consists of four framed bays and is two stories high. The northeast front has a mix of 20th-century two and three-light casements, some made of metal and others leaded. To the left, there is a late 17th-century one-bay framed extension that projects out and has a large chimney on the gable. The southwest front features a large 17th-century chimney added to an old external wall, which is now partly covered by a later pent roof extension. This side also has 20th-century two-light metal casement windows and a ledged door to the right. Inside, most of the timber frame is visible.
