Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Market Place is a late 18th-century town house that has been altered in the mid-20th century and is now used as shops and offices. It may have originally formed a terrace with Nos. 1 and 2 Broad Street, which are listed separately. No. 3 is constructed of brick, while No. 4 features painted render, both topped with an old tile hipped roof. The building has a rectangular plan and stands three storeys tall, with a cellar located under No. 4. There is a chimney on the left side, positioned behind the ridge. The front has two bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars. The windows on No. 4 are wider than those on No. 3, which has a segmental brick arch over its first-floor window. The ground floor features 20th-century shop fronts that are of no special interest.
