Description

A group of nine monuments for the Pitt family is located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, about 5 metres south of the west end of the nave. These monuments date from the 18th century and include headstones and footstones. The stone footstones display only initials and dates, while the stone headstones feature carved heads, urns, flowers, and seraphims, along with inscriptions that are partially eroded. The first monument on the left is dated 1778, the second 1777, the fourth 1778, the fifth 1781, and the sixth 1782, which also includes a grave cover. The ninth monument also has a grave cover.
