Description

This is a row of six terraced houses, numbers 26 to 34, located on the west side of King’s Road and also known as Brunswick Place. They were likely built around 1830 to 1840.

Numbers 26 to 30 are three-storey houses with stucco facades and hipped slate roofs. Each front is flanked by panelled pilaster strips that extend upwards from the first-floor sill band. Each house has two windows, with slender glazing bars in the sashes. Cast iron balconettes are present on the first floor. The ground floor windows are marginal-glazed French casements, and incorporate tent-roofed verandahs.

Numbers 32 and 34 are two-storey houses. Number 32 is roughcast and features two windows with louvred shutters on the first floor, and a canted bay window with a leaded tent roof on the ground floor. Number 34 has a single window on the first floor and a similar canted bay window on the ground floor, with a trellis porch on the side. This pair shares a hipped slate roof.

Numbers 26 to 34 form a visually cohesive group and represent Brunswick Terrace.
