Description
North Lodge, along with its gates and the screen wall to the south, was built around 1842. It is a single-storey structure made of ashlar stone, featuring weathered coping. The design is similar to the north range and is also attributed to the architect Blore. The lodge has a four-centred arched doorway and includes three single and one two-light mullioned iron casement windows. The gates meet at the corner and extend across the drive, supported by heavy stone piers that have carved details on their caps, topped with octagonal lamps. The carriage and pedestrian gates feature fleur de lis headed rails, with the pedestrian gates set under four-centred arches. A screen wall extends south from the lodge.
