Description
Horton Cedars is a building dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some parts colourwashed, and features a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and a basement.
At the rear, there are two three-light windows on the ground floor with wooden mullions, a French window, and a double-hung sash window with glazing bars. A cast iron verandah is present on a cement-rendered round-arched terrace, with segmental relieving arches above the verandah canopy and over the ground floor windows. The first floor has casement windows with brick mullions, flat arches, and no glazing bars, along with a brick band at the cill level. The building is topped with a brick modillion cornice and a lead-covered blocking course.
The front of the building features three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in reveals with flat arches. There is a rendered colourwashed plinth and double-hung sash windows with glazing bars in reveals with flat arches on either side of a Corinthian porch, which has dwarf columns and pilasters leading up steps. The entablature of the porch has a dentil cornice and a flat roof. To the left of the front, there is a two-storey recessed section made of brick with a slate roof.
