Description

The Limes is a 17th-century building located on Mill Lane in Clewer. It stands two storeys high and features a roughcast exterior with an old tile roof. The first floor has six mullioned and transomed windows, while the ground floor has five similar windows, with the third window from the left being blocked. To the left, there is a half-glazed door.

There is a small one-bay addition from the 18th century on the left side, which is made of colour-washed brick and has a string course at the first floor level, cut brick window heads, and a hipped old tile roof. At the back, there is a two-storey wing that is timber framed with brick infilling and also has an old tile roof. This wing features irregular windows with leaded upper lights and an overhanging rear section. The centre of the rear has a two-storey break with three light leaded wood mullioned casements. The south rear wing dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century.
