Description

Two Benwell monuments are located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, approximately 6 metres south of the west end of the nave. These headstones and footstones date from around 1782 and 1783 and commemorate members of the Benwell family. They are made of stone and feature carved headstones with an urn in the center, flanked by garlands, and skulls at the base. The left footstone is inscribed "1782. Mary," while the right footstone reads "1783. Ann." The grave covers are plain.
