Description
Hazel Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid 16th century. It features a timber frame with arch bracing, white painted brick nogging, and an old tile roof that is half hipped to the right. The building originally had an open hall consisting of two framed bays and is two storeys high. On the first floor, there are two 2-light casement windows, while the ground floor has two 3-light casement windows. These flank a boarded door that is off-centre to the left, which is sheltered by a gabled lattice porch. Inside, there is a later inserted floor in the left-hand bay and a newel staircase in the right-hand bay.
