Description

The Eight Bells is likely a 17th-century building, formerly a public house until around 1970. The building was refenestrated in the 19th century, and a two-story addition has been added to the rear. It has one-and-a-half storeys and consists of three gabled bays, the southern gable being over a carriageway leading to what was formerly Trafalgar Place. The roof is tiled and features finials and bargeboards to the gables. The building has a timber frame with a plastered front. The ground floor has three-light windows with traceried Gothic details, while the first floor has two-light windows with traceried lights and hood moulds. A gabled porch with turned balusters provides access via a half-glazed door. The interior features moulded beams.
