Description

South Hidden Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with 18th and 19th-century extensions. It has a hipped roof covered in old tiles. The construction is mixed, incorporating timber framing with brick infill, knapped flint with brick dressings, and brick. The original plan was an “L” shape; the earliest part of the house is a single bay of timber framing situated above a flint and brick base, forming the north arm of the “L”. An 18th-century extension was added to the south, and a 19th-century extension to the west.

The main south-facing elevation is two stories high. The right side is constructed of flint with brick quoins and dressings, while the left side is brick, using grey headers and red stretchers. There are three 20th-century casement windows, two on the right side and one on the left. A central door is sheltered by a simple flat hood. A single-story extension was added in the late 19th century to the far left.
