Description
Great Shefford House is an early 19th-century brick building with a painted east elevation and a hipped slate roof featuring wide flat eaves. The house is rectangular, with a break to the south, and consists of two storeys and an attic. On the east elevation, there is one vertical sliding sash window with glazing bars set back, and four similar windows on the main block. Additionally, there are three flat-roofed dormers, each with vertical sliding sashes. The south elevation has two vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance is located at the rear on the west elevation.
The garden wall and door, built in the late 19th century, are made of multi-coloured brick with stone coping. The wall features rendered piers flanking a door designed with channelled quoins, located adjacent to the house. The door is a 20th-century timber door with applied tracery, and the wall stands 2 metres high and extends 40 metres long.
