Description

Church Cottage is a late 15th and 16th century cottage with 19th-century additions to the west and north. It is timber framed with brick nogging, later brick additions, the western addition featuring grey diapering. The roof is of old tiles, half-hipped, with a catslide extending over a later outshut to the north. A large 19th-century ridge stack is located off-centre to the west, featuring two angled shafts, and there is a stack to the north. The cottage has two framed bays to the west. The south front has a first-floor 3-light casement window to the left, a ground-floor 3-light casement window to the right and a 2-light diamond-leaded casement window to the left. A boarded door is situated on the north side. An end of jetty is exposed with a bracket to the east. Inside, the eastern bay reveals a formerly external jetty to the north, and small solid curved braces are used to tie in the beams.
