Description
The churchyard wall and tower, located approximately 12 metres to the south and 25 metres to the east of the Church of St. Andrew in Bradfield, date back to the 18th century. The wall is about 80 metres long and stands between 2 and 3 metres high. It is constructed of red brick, with some flint, stone, and tile incorporated, featuring decorative diapering and rounded brick coping. At the southeast corner, there is a low octagonal brick tower with stone dressings, a plinth, and a vaulted brick roof. The tower includes a small square-headed cusped window on the southeast side and an entrance on the southwest side. This wall and tower are among the few remaining parts of Bradfield Place, which is now the site of Bradfield College.
