Description

Church Lodge is an entrance lodge dating to 1848. It is constructed of red brick with grey diapering, stone dressings, and a plinth. The building is of L-plan, with a gabled cross wing to the right. This wing features a coped parapet, capstone, and kneelers. The roof is slate-covered, and a large stack rises on the right side, featuring four shafts with oversailing caps, two of which are set diagonally.

The west front has a two-light mullioned window in the gable of the cross wing, and a ground floor canted bay below, topped with a battlemented parapet. A doorway is recessed to the left, with a four-centered arch and hoodmould. A one-light window is set into the right hand return wall. To the north, the ground floor features a two-light mullioned window, and above it, a gable with a single window containing diamond panes. A one-story addition is present to the south, with a two-light mullioned window facing west.
