Description

The Darling tomb, located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the early 19th century. It features a stone tomb with a moulded plinth and fluted columns at each corner, which support a cornice and a weathered cap. The tomb is surrounded by cast iron railings that have spear heads and urn caps, set on a stone-capped brick base. The railings and base together stand approximately 1.5 metres high. The tomb is inscribed to Robert Darling, who died in 1818.
