Description

The Old Vicarage is a house located on Parsonage Lane in Hungerford, dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It features tiled roofs and a central chimney on the east block. The east elevation is constructed of brick with grey headers and red dressings, while the south gable is adorned with fish tail tiles hung on a timber frame. The original 17th-century block faces the road to the east, with later extensions added to the west.

The east elevation has two storeys and an attic, featuring two small gabled dormers and a combination of three, two, and three light mullioned and transomed windows with leaded lights. A central 20th-century porch is positioned between 20th-century three and four light mullioned and transomed casements. The north elevation shows the gabled end of the 17th-century block on the left, which has one three light mullion and transom window above a small angled bay. To the right is a two-storey extension from the 18th and 19th centuries, which includes a band at the first floor and two glazing bar sashes above a large angled flat-roofed brick bay that has a sash window on each face, plus a narrow sash on the far right.

On the west elevation, there is a French casement on the left leading onto the flat roof of a large curved brick bay with full height glazing bar sashes. To the right, a 19th-century sash window is set in a small gable that breaks the eaves, above a gabled brick porch. Inside, the ground floor rooms in the extension to the north are decorated in the Queen Anne style.
