Description
The lychgate, built in 1897, is located approximately 15 metres south of the Church of St Mary. It features a timber frame with a hipped tile roof and a central archway flanked by traceried sidelights. Each side has four bays adorned with Gothic curvilinear tracery, and there is a bronze cross on the ridge. This structure was erected in memory of Evelyn Agnes Marion Blackburn Maze by W.P. Blackburn Maze. The lychgate is accompanied by short flanking walls made of flint with ashlar dressings, lacing courses, and coping. The left-hand wall is about 10 metres long and one metre high, while the right-hand wall is approximately 5 metres long and one metre high.
