Description

This is a terrace of 22 houses, built around 1823 as Smith’s Crescent. They are arranged as a symmetrical composition of two storeys, with three windows to each house. The houses have slate roofs and brick ridge stacks. They are constructed of red brick with gauged flat red brick arches over recessed sash windows, which retain glazing bars. The doorways are round-arched, each with a radial fanlight over a panelled door. A pedimented feature sits centrally, bearing a date plaque inscribed "Smith's Crescent 1823." A semi-elliptical carriage entrance is set within an arched recess below the pediment. Some window openings have been altered, and number 37 has a shopfront.
