Description

This is a 17th-century cottage with some alterations from the 18th century, located on the west side of Westwood Row in Tilehurst. The cottage is timber-framed with angle bracing and white-painted brick nogging. The left side of the front has a later white-painted brick facing. It has a thatched roof, half-hipped to the left, with a stack positioned in front of the ridge on the left side, a ridge stack slightly off-centre to the left, and three eaves dormers, each containing a three-light casement window. The front has three framed bays. The cottage is one-and-a-half storeys high. There are two three-light casement windows to the right, a small 20th-century casement to the left, and a two-light casement to the far left. Two boarded doors are positioned between the first and second windows, and between the third and fourth windows from the left.
