Circa 1880. Coursed rubble gateway with ashlar dressings. The archway has drip moulding with corbel heads and a stepped parapet with a shield bearing the municipal arms of Southampton. The arch is flanked by 2 square piers with octagonal turrets above and there are 5 stone piers with pyramidal caps facing the lodge.
