Description
The gates and gate piers to Southampton Old Cemetery were built around 1880. They feature a coursed rubble gateway with ashlar dressings. The archway includes a drip moulding with corbel heads and a stepped parapet that displays a shield bearing the municipal arms of Southampton. Flanking the arch are two square piers topped with octagonal turrets. Additionally, there are five stone piers with pyramidal caps that face the lodge.
